West Linn Feeds the Hungry Discovery Walk

Saturday, March 1, 2008 9:00 am.  Meet at the West Linn Adult Community Center at 1180 Rosemont Road.  Please bring canned food or a monetary donation to support the city-wide food drive. Join us as we explore the walking paths in the Tanner Basin neighborhood.  The route is approximately two miles in length and mostly on paved surfaces.  No pre-registration necessary.  Family's welcome.  Rain or shine.

The "West Linn Feeds the Hungry" citywide food drive taking place throughout the entire month of March is about to begin.  Citizens, businesses, civic organizations, and schools will be working together to collect food donations that will benefit both the local West Linn Food Pantry and the wider-reaching Oregon Food Bank.  It will be the first citywide food drive in Oregon's history.  The purpose of this monumental event is not only to collect much needed food to feed the hungry, but it also serves to raise awareness of food insecurity and educate people about the effect of hunger on children and adults across our state.  The gala kick-off event will be held on Saturday, March 1st at the Cascade Summit Shopping Center from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM.  Stop by and enjoy the music of local band, Global FM,  eat savory Lion's burgers, partake in the kids' activities or simply load food donations in your car and convienently drop them off at the drive-through donation center.
